Leak occurred because a stream of cold feed entered the suction of the pump. When the cold stream reached the pump, the pump began to cavitate, causing excess vibration. The vibration caused a line coming off of the pump to break.
The failed piping will be replaced with an upgraded class to withstand future upsets of this nature. Contaminated soil has been remediated and disposed of properly.
